Woodworkers' Checklist for Madisonville Boat Show

 

All participants have their own methods, tips, and ideas, but here's a list to get you thinking as you pack for the show (no particular order -- ones with asterisk are basic; the rest are optional):

                       

Note:  Electricity and compressed air will be available at each workstation.  A band saw will also be available for general use.

 

*Electric Drill (with spare battery if it's cordless) with 1/4" bit         

Brad nail gun, with 3/4" or 1" brads         

*Glue gun with plenty of glue sticks                                                                    

*Small hammer                         

*Stool -- (work tables are 30-32" high)

Work surface -- 2' x 3' piece of 1/2" plywood makes a nice work surface

Rag or brush to clean off surface            

*Sandpaper or sanding block to smooth off hull edges

Regular wood glue                     

*Pliers (needlenose to pull out nails and/or sidecutters to cut off small nails)

Small chisel

Small modeling saw

File

Tape Measure

Pencil & Paper (to jot down names)

Felt tip Pen (Sharpies are good for writing kids' names on otheir boats)

*Extension cord with power strip

Center punch
